Happy Summer!
Only 14 more school days for me... less for J.
She is away with her dad this weekend. Worry a bit since she has been complaining about having to go (for a while now). Quick, change the subject...
I was in the city last night having dinner with my 3 close girlfriends from college, K, D, and C. The food was yummy. I liked the garbanzo-pepper and leek tart appetizers best. We talked mostly about family responsibilities as our children and parents get older. C's mom lives next door to her and suffers from fairly extreme dementia. She is thinking about assisted living and other alternatives. It sounds very difficult.
Spent the day today in the ice rink. There was a judges' school and I was on the tech panel. Bought a long down coat a couple weeks ago and it came in really handy today. The rink was FREEZING. Duh, I know, but it seemed colder than usual, probably because it was overcast and rainy outside. Ugg boots and a hat helped a lot, too. I love being a BIGSHOT at the rink (and always have :) ).
Tomorrow I will do my ice dancing and then some chores.
Can't wait for Sex and the City: The Movie to come out next weekend, but will probably have to wait to see it until school gets out. Hope to go with a bunch of my fabulous moms group friends.
The first part of June will be busy. We have the soccer party next weekend, a tournament and the Festival the following weekend, and of course, the end of school. I'm going to keep twittering, so please check down to the right here for updates!
