Senseless

I don't get this... nothing about it.

Why did she bother? Why did they kill her?

I have always followed her career, not because she was from a third-world political family, but because she was my college graduation speaker. We had tons of security so she could come. Very gracious speaker, very down to earth. Her brother also went to Harvard and was friends with my old skating coach. He was assassinated, too.

Night Before Christmas

I've been trying to kill time before starting the Santa thing, just to make sure the VIP is asleep.

Was down in Santa Monica yesterday after a quick trip to Disneyland. Santa Monica is certainly one of my most favorite places because of the weather and the memories. It's so cool to be able to walk on that promenade right on the beach. There used to be a rink on 5th and Broadway, where we would have competitions and/or training camps every summer there. The skaters from LA have always been awesome, from their technique and choreography to their So Cal attitude and Hollywood-style costumes. It was always a treat to go down and take in all the on- and off-ice trends.

Now the rink is Fred Segal. While I wish that the rink could have been best left as is, Fred is a worthy substitute. If only I could afford to actually buy something!

Merry Christmas!

No Ice For 2 Weeks

My friend L sent me these cards.

The ice dancing was cancelled this morning, so I probably won't get to go for at least another couple of Sundays.

This Cracks Me Up

Apparently the Tate Modern has undertaken its most profound exhibit yet, opening itself to abyss of controversy.

You'd think this was in the Onion or something, but it's for real.

Making The Holidays Happen

Tonight we are going to the city for my parents annual Hanukkah dinner. Happy Hanukkah! The food is always good. My favorite is the liver pate and the potato latkes. The kosher caterer also has great cookies.

I thought things would calm down a bit at work after report cards and conferences, but they haven't. Our grade level team is hosting the staff holiday party next week. Initially, it was to be at my house, but I am feeling too pressured so we are thinking of moving it to a restaurant. That would be a great relief.

My house is fully decorated now, inside and out. The guys next door and across the street started their now annual *Christmas Lights War* with my next door neighbor going for two stories this year. J slept over at A's last night so I wrapped a ton of presents late into the evening. They are all now under the tree, except for the ones from Santa.

Still need to buy a couple more gifts...

J is in her room now working on ANOTHER report for school. Her teacher is awesome, but gives a lot of homework. I hate homework! ;)
