Lots Of Everything

The Big Fat First Communion was a huge success, at least from my point of view. We ended up having it catered, and there was a magician and a steel drum band to entertain. The weather was perfect -- sunny and breezy. Most of the party took place in our decently manicured backyard (whew!) and many of our best friends and family were there.

Hours after the event, J still would not take off her veil. In fact, she rode her bike for at least a couple of hours with her helmet on over it. We got lots of comments from the neighbors about that beautiful stream of white tulle waving behind her in wind. Wish I had a picture to post. . .

At work, we have state testing this week and next. Ugh!

Went to my high school's annual gala and fashion show last night with a small group of alums. What is it about these events that we all regress back to age 16?! I bought nothing at the Silent Auction, thank goodness, 'cause I'm fresh out of money.

Lord help me, I'm having 70 people over to my house tomorrow. Let's hope they don't all have to go to the bathroom at once.

Needless to say, the birthday this week was downplayed.

Here's the star in her dress, brought to you by her Lola and Lolo. Tomorrow's party, FYI, was financed almost entirely by her Jewish grandparents. Yup!
